Today is April 1st! No this isn’t an April Fool’s Day joke. Today is the first of the month and it starts on a Sunday, what’s better than that?

Anyway, one thing I like doing is looking at each month and giving myself ‘challenges’ or goals. They can be weight loss related, overall health related, or financially related. This month, I’d like to share a few challenges that I have setup for myself this.

1. Run a 5K

Ok so this one is somewhat of a cheat because I had already sign up for this. But I am running the Tanner Higgins Memorial Run in my hometown on April 14th. My training has been lazy at best, but I’m excited. It has been a while since I’ve actually gotten to run in a race and this is a perfect step for me to get back into my half marathons. I don’t have a time goal, but I’m running with my sister and I think we both just want to finish without dying haha.

2. “No Extras” Challenge

In our office at work, we are going to do a minimalist challenge this month. You basically can’t buy or spend money on “extras”. So no Starbucks runs in the morning (I may die), no Chick Fil A runs in the afternoon, no extra clothes, no nothing. Just groceries, gas, the basic essentials. I know my wallet, and probably my stomach, will enjoy this since I can’t go out to eat.

3. Meditate/Quiet Time for 10 minutes every day

This one may actually be the hardest one for me. I don’t know if it’s because now a days, something has to be going on: tv, phone/social media, music, something. But I’m going to try and do this every day. I hope this will help me be inspired each day, help with some stress, and help my overall attitude.
